People Stories

We are always looking to enhance our community at Mole Valley. To give you a better idea of what working with us is like, we asked some of our colleagues

Kate, Strategic Lead for HR and OD

Kate alongside the Strategic Leadership team is responsible for developing and delivering the Organisational Development Strategy. Since joining Mole Valley in February 2005 as a Partnerships Assistant, Kate has developed and broadened the skills she gained through her prior career with HR qualifications, coaching, mediation, and a lot of on the job learning. The breadth and variety of work is something which has kept her with us for far longer than she anticipated or stayed anywhere else before.

Jamie, Planning Policy Officer

Jamie joined us after graduating from university three years ago. His role is extremely varied and comprises a number of different responsibilities. Jamie is also being sponsored by Mole Valley District Council through his two year Masters in Planning and Practices alongside carrying out his role, where he leads on aviation for the council and spends a lot of his time engaging with a number of stakeholders.

Steve, Team Leader for Mole Valley Life

Steve has been in his role now for fourteen months. Since being at Mole Valley, Steve has attended a number of training sessions; mental health training, emergency rest centre training as well as dementia training.  Mole Valley District Council has been a great opportunity for Steve to progress his career. Working for the local government enables employees to gain job satisfaction, it also enables you to put things back into the community, which is extremely rewarding.

Annabelle, Social Media and Communications in BusinessĀ Apprentice

Annabelle joined us in December as an apprentice in social media in business after completing her A-Levels at college. Taking the apprenticeship route at Mole Valley District Council was the perfect start to her career. Apprenticeships offer an array of opportunities and experiences to set an individual up to pursue a career in their chosen field, whilst being employed and working in a busy and vibrant office environment.
