Planning Policy Manager

“Happy to talk flexible working”

About us

About the role and team
If you need some more excitement from your planning work, now is the best time to join our Planning Policy team.

You will of course be experienced in preparing a local plan but we want someone with a dynamic and creative approach, who can lead and build trust and confidence in staff and stakeholders.

If that sounds like you then we would love to hear from you.

Projects

In the role you’ll be given the opportunity to shape the emerging Local Plan working with a highly dedicated team, as well as being a part of the Council’s wider Business Management Team.

You’ll be responsible for the Council’s approach to major projects, such as Gatwick, as well as leading communities on the use of Community Infrastructure Levy.

Mole Valley has a great vision for the future with strong environmental credentials and this is an opportunity to deliver creative solutions through Planning Policy.

We will provide you with the opportunity to manage your own team and the autonomy to deliver.

About you
As well as being an experienced Policy Planner we’re looking for someone who can visualise and describe the full picture of what a local plan is trying to achieve.

You will have a logical approach with the ability to understand risks and mitigate them.

You’ll love working in a team environment, getting the best from people and developing their interests and capabilities.

As someone eligible for membership of the RTPI you’ll be ready to advance new ideas and best practice, ensuring that Mole Valley remains working for the best interests of the District in the future.
