About the team

The Environmental Health and Licensing service inspects local businesses in relation to: food safety, health and safety at work, environmental protection including air quality and contaminated land, private sector housing, public health and infectious disease control. They also assess and issues the appropriate licences for companies requiring alcohol, entertainment, taxis and private hire, animal welfare and street trading licences.

About the placement

A work experience placement would introduce you to these areas of work by working with Environmental Health and Licensing Officers to understand why and how we carry out inspections and issue licences to local businesses.

About you

To work well in this team you will need to have good computer skills, be able to interpret information and communicate effectively with others as well as be able to follow instructions accurately and effectively.
